Study at CASA

We receive many enquiries from prospective PhD students interested in studying at CASA. If you are considering applying, or would like more information, please read this page.

Funding

Before completing an application form, please consider how you will fund your studies as UK universities rarely have funding for PhDs. Our overseas students are primarily self-financed or in receipt of a scholarship from their own country. Our UK students are generally in receipt of a scholarship from a UK Research Council (such as EPSRC or ESRC). A very small number of scholarships are available within UCL - but these are highly competitive. In addition to tuition fees, you need to consider how you will fund your living expenses for the duration of your studies. Accommodation in London is also expensive, and we are unable to support students who run into financial difficulty.

Completing the Application for Admission

To apply to study at CASA you should complete the UCL Graduate Admission form. You can either apply online, or download a copy of the form to complete. You must state 'Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis' as the UCL department you are applying for, otherwise your form will not reach us. In addition, we request a 1000-word research proposal to support your application; we will not be able to consider your application without it. Please send a full copy of your application form together with your research proposal directly to CASA, at the following address:
