Suddenly we find that several of us are working with ABMs and with software tools such as REPAST. We held an impromptu seminar on our work in early 2006 and although this is a bit dated now, the contributions do show what we have been doing and some of these are not available elsewhere on on our web site. Since the seminar, Andy Crooks and Christian Castle have constructed their Blog which is essential reading: see the web link

The Seminar was based on the following presentations:
Andrew Crooks:
An Introduction to the Repast Software
Kay Kitazawa (Presented by Mike Batty in her absence):
Agent-Based Analysis for Patterns of Children’s Activities*
John Ward: Pedestrian Dynamics:
Models of Pedestrian Behaviour
Vassilis Zachariadis:
An Agent-Based Approach to the Simulation of Pedestrian Movement and Factors that Control It*
Christian Castle:
A Decision Support System for Evacuation using Agent-Based Simulation to evaluate the Kings Cross Redevelopment*
Joana Barros (Birkbeck):
Urban Dynamics in Latin American Cities: An Agent-Based Simulation Approach*
Andrew Crooks:
Integration of Agent-Based Simulation and GIS: Applied to Segregation*
* using Recursive Porous Agent Simulation Toolkit (Repast) within their research.
